Hello! My name is Stephanie Robinson. I graduated with my Master's in Speech-Language Pathology in 2019 from Idaho State University-Meridian.
I live in Payette with my little family consisting of my husband, son, and therapy-dog-in-training, Beans. We like to go biking, hiking, and swimming in our free time. My favorite foods are curry and gluten-free Oreos.
I am often asked what my favorite parts of speech-therapy are. I knew going into graduate school that I loved working with children who use speech-generating devices. This is still true, as I get to experience giving non-speaking individuals a voice for the first time in their lives. After graduation, I realized how many children with language disorders also needed skilled intervention in reading, writing, and spelling. While my graduate training did provide me with the credentials to teach reading, I knew that ethically I needed additional training to provide reading intervention with fidelity. I am completing my Science of Reading Certificate for Speech-Language Pathologists from the Lavi Institute in 2022, and stand ready to add literacy intervention to my toolbox.
Move Mountains was started in 2022 after I moved across the Treasure Valley to the little town of Payette. While I came for my husbands new job, I was excited at the prospect of increasing the accessibility to speech-language therapy in the area. I had been working in Nampa and noticed that many clients were driving an hour in order to receive skilled interventions. With some guidance from two other private practice owners in Idaho, I got my foot in the door and I hope to open it up wide!
Right now Move Mountains is a one-woman show. Future plans include a physical clinic location and additional therapeutic disciplines.
